Learning To Fish For Insurance Leads Online

“Give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish, you ruin a wonderful business opportunity.”
- Karl Marx

Man, I love that quote.

This will kind of be a rant since I received a marketing piece from another insurance marketing guru that irritated me.

They were pitching a “done for you” internet marketing plan. You pay them a huge chunk of change along with large monthly fees and they’ll manage your online marketing. I’m sure they’ll sell a lot and take advantage of a lot of really talented agents. However…

Guess what happens once you stop paying?

That’s right, you’re screwed…twice.

You shelled out a large amount of your hard earned cash over time and you lost a cash earning lead source (I’m assuming they’ll produce leads for you).

Now, think about this. You actually learn some basics of online marketing. It’s really not hard stuff so please keep reading this. You learn the basics. And, for less than the amount you would pay these marketing gurus you could outsource many things (like building a website) or you can do it yourself.

And, I’ll show you how for free over the next few weeks.

Marketing insurance online only consists of three simple things: Market Research, Traffic, Conversion. That’s it.

I’ll introduce you to the tools I use online to get sites listed fast. Some of the tools cost money and I highly recommend you buy them. If you’re slightly interested in marketing online these will save you many hours of your life. With them you can also help friends or businesses you work with and show them some of the tricks up your sleeve.

You don’t need to learn how to program websites, however some basics you’ll learn as you go. Most of what I do is plug and play. This will involve a bit of writing and time but if you dedicate 30 minutes to an hour each day you can have a site on the first page of Google within 30 days. No joke, I’ve done it a few times.

Now, the question for you is, do you want to be someone’s business opportunity or do you want to learn to fish?

  1. Yes – I want to learn how to build a SUCCESSFUL SALES website which generates qualified, interested leads. Not interested in doing a pretty, informational about how great my company or I am – just want to have it bring me leads for individual health insurance leads that will actually convert into sales. 80% of all individual insurance is sold by on-line websites. Buying leads is a big farce. If a lead comes in from the company you pay big bucks too, 5-8 other agents get those same leads regardless of what the company tells you. I tested it and I know it to be true. I entered myself and got 5 contacts from agents in the first two days.

No expensive “marketing in a box” programs for me!

    I couldn’t agree more Matt.
All businesses need to learn and understand the new methods of marketing and advertising in this new millennium.
It is no different than knowing the old methods – yellow pages, newspapers and other print media, radio, billboards, etc., it is just different with the technical component added.
Learning every piece in great detail is probably not necessary, but the more you know, the better you will be able to compete in this fiercely competitive market.

What your post says has a lot of merit.

I have bought lerads online only to find that they have sold to several agents at the same time.

Even if you get a chance to talk to a prospect, I’ve heard things I didn’t apply for that coverage, you must have the wrong individual, of they just can’t qualify for the coverage they are seeking.

So having someone willing to teach agents how to do this is like having a brath of fresh air.

I have wanted to learn how to generate qualifid leads onlie for over a year, but with no success.

I have take many webinars, bought courses to study, but all to no avail.

I really hope your tutoring is the real mccoy, because people will eat it up if it is.

Let’s go fishing and thanks for the extra value! I’m still working my way through the PPC course but I know that the end result will be worth my time.

I’ve purchased a lot of those EZ Ways to sell insurance courses from the “guru’s” and yours is the best so far as to instruction and value.

And “leads” ? Don’t get me started about how much money I’ve wasted on purchasing internet leads…

With what I’m learning here I’ll catch my own fish……

    Best regards,

    Duaine

Sherry & Ken, I will do my best to give you everything you need to get going. You still have to do some work on your end and follow through. Good thing is there’s no race to the finish and the info will be here for you to follow along.

Jim, I have a lot of friends, like myself, that have spent thousands of dollars and hours learning traditional direct marketing, copywriting, etc. However, you mention online and they cower in fear. This is just another extension of the same methods with a few more tricks to learn.

Duaine, thanks for the nice comments on the course. That made my day and is why I outlined and shared that course.

What I plan on teaching you can apply to any business online. As I said, market research, traffic, conversion. That’s the basis of the start to any good business.
